Questions

Does my registration fee include lodging?

Yes, but only if you purchased during the following registration periods: New Year Special, Early Bird, and Regular.

Are meals included in my registration fee?

No. All meals are on your own.

Can children, ages 0-17, attend the conference?

Yes, but they must have at minimum, one registered parent present.

Will child care be provided for children ages 4-11?

Only on Saturday, August 1st, from 2:00PM–4:30PM.

Will there be organized activities for children & youth?

No.

How will single adult roommates be assigned?

We will assign roommates based on gender and home church. In cases where a registrant does not belong to a home church, we will do our best to assign him or her with a person of the same gender from the same geographical area. Because registrants will be placed in hotel rooms, we're open to placing siblings together (male and female) upon request.

Are you accepting volunteers to assist with the conference?

No.

I am flying into Portland, OR, what is the nearest airport?

Portland International Airport (PDX).

Will there be a shuttling service to & from Portland State University?

No. Registrants must provide for their own travel.

If I can no longer attend, are you issuing full refunds?

No. $225 of every fee is non-refundable.

Can I transfer my registration to someone else?

Yes. But there are a few caveats. To transfer registrations, you must contact registration@hmongdistrict.org. And also, the person you transfer to must be someone of the same gender. Only in rare circumstances, will a transfer to a person of the opposite gender be approved.

What should I pack?

Can I bring a bike, skate board, and or roller blades unto campus?

Yes.

What should I do on Thursday, July 30th?
  1. Head to Portland State University.
  2. Go to Viking Pavilion where our Salt & Light Registration Team will be. Registration opens at 12:00PM. Once you receive your conference credentials, make your way to your hotel.
  3. Hotel check-in is 4:00 PM. If your room is available earlier, hotels may allow early check-in. If not, they may be able to hold your luggage.
If I'm arriving late on Thursday, July 30th, where do I go to check-in?

Viking Pavilion. Our registration team will be there all day.

Are you selling an official Salt & Light t-shirt?

Yes! Shirts will be $25 per.

Are there any items banned from campus?

Yes! Guns: This includes legally registered firearms. Even if you have a concealed carry license, guns are not allowed on campus. Fireworks. Weapons of any kind.

Will hotel rooms have microwaves and refrigerators?

We're not sure! Feel free to call your assigned hotel to find out.
